Chipinge sits at 1,100 m elevation in the southernmost part of the Eastern Highlands, receiving annual rainfall of 800–1,000 mm — among the highest in Zimbabwe. This high rainfall saturates the ancient granite basement, which has weathered deeply over millennia into a productive zone of fractured rock and residual soil. Borehole depths of 30–60 m are common in the Chipinge area, and first-time success rates are excellent when correct geophysical siting is applied.
