Kadoma, known as Zimbabwe's "Cotton City", sits on the Kadoma-Chakari Greenstone Belt — an ancient sequence of volcanic and sedimentary rocks that hosts significant gold mineralisation and some of the country's hardest drilling conditions. Borehole depths in the district typically range from 50–100 m, with productive aquifers often found in shear zones and fractured contact zones between the greenstone belt and surrounding granite.
